Think Like Jesus

Do you know what beliefs and values make up your worldview? Have you carefully thought through what motivates your actions? Today Dr. Land’s special guest is Dr. George Barna, founder and Directing Leader at the Barna Research Group, a marketing firm located in Ventura, California. This company specializes in conducting primary research for Christian ministries and non-profit organizations. Dr. Barna is also a best selling author. He has written over 30 books, including the one we will talk with him about today titled, Think Like Jesus.

“Among those who say they rely on biblical standards and principles as their compass for moral decision making, only half believe that all moral truth is absolute. . . That means the bottom line is that only 14 percent of born-again adults-in other words, about one in every seven born-again adults-rely on the Bible as their moral compass and believe moral truth is absolute. While these perceptions are not, in themselves, the totality of a Bible-based worldview, they form the foundation on which such a life lens is based. Very few born-again Christians have the foundation in place.” (Randall Murphree interview, p 21 of Think Like Jesus)

George Barna’s research is surprising, even shocking and disturbing-most Christians in America don’t think like Jesus. The next question is obvious, “How do we help them to do it?” The crux of George’s book is spent helping readers to do just that.

Anyone who claims to be born-again and does not believe the Bible as their moral compass and believe that moral truth is absolute does NOT KNOW GOD and their righoutness is in themselves. Some may think this to be a daring statement, and I don’t mean to sound judgmental but I have been there and know exactly what I am saying.I’ve been a born-again believer for over 30 yrs,and my testimony is lengthy so I won’t go into it here,I know this much God said what He ment And He ment what He said.

This program by George Barna on Think Like Jesus is so very needed.  We are all trying like crazy to do something we really want to do but never truly thought to look closely at the model.  My goodness, thank you God, George Barna has opened my eyes.  I have been a Christian since age 7, now 67 and it hit me like a rock!  I am totally renewed in my endeavor.  It was more real when I was a child!  Thank you...all responsible...VHS
