The Right Questions

Apr 14–15, 2008 - comment

Don’t miss For Faith & Family on April 17th and 18th (Thurs/Fri) when Dr. Land welcome’s Ben Stein to discuss the new film Expelled! No Intelligence Allowed, in theaters Friday April 19th!

Phillip Johnson is a former law professor who is one of the leading voices in the Intelligent Design movement. He has written a new book titled The Right Questions: Truth, Meaning and Public Debate.

In the contest of ideas and the competition for the hearts and minds of men and women, in America today and in academic circles around the globe, we’re playing by the opponent’s rules. The debate about the “big questions” of life has largely been limited by scientific intellectuals who embrace a naturalistic philosophy and set the parameters for any conversation by asking the wrong questions and then telling us our answers are wrong.

Phillip Johnson is a voice or clarity amid this confusion. In his book, The Right Questions: Truth, Meaning and Public Debate, he outlines the questions we all ought to be asking about the meaning of human history, the limits of scientific inquiry, religion and education, truth, liberty and God and His Word, Jesus Christ.

Johnson has written,

“When they start from the premise that science and religion don’t mix, there can be no serious discussion of science that includes supernatural and religious views.”

Phillip Johnson isn’t afraid to think outside the box. His belief that Christian faith and conviction ought to lead the way in opening up the search for truth and meaning is evidenced by his willingness to tackle the toughest controversies. Today’s dialogue will help each of us to examine our own beliefs and the premises from which we begin our own journey to find truth.

  4. And please, do not post in ALL CAPS. It looks like you're screaming. :-)
