The Case for a Creator

Apr 21–22, 2008 - comment

Today Dr. Land’s special guest is award-winning author Lee Strobel, a former atheist, who, as an investigative reporter, researched the claims of Christ and found His Savior in the process. Lee is a former teaching pastor at two of the nation’s largest churches and author of the book, The Case for a Creator.

There was a time when the great men of science were also men of faith. Science and faith were not seen to be incompatible-indeed, it was the study of science that led men to faith in their Creator. But after Darwin, that all began to change. Eventually, men of faith were not taken seriously by the scientific community. It was the rare believer who could defend his faith in the jaded light of “scientific reality.”

Thankfully, the pendulum appears to be swinging back. And we are delighted to have Lee Strobel with us today to share some of these new developments in science. Lee has been a guest with us on the broadcast before. With the same energy and scrutiny with which he produced The Case for Christ and The Case for Faith he has tackled The Case for a Creator.

Dr. Stephen C. Meyer, Ph. D., was one of the scientists Lee Strobel interviewed for The Case for Christ. Meyer said,

“What we know today gives us heightened confidence-from science-that God exists. The weight of the evidence is very, very impressive… Science and faith are not at war. When scientific evidence and biblical teaching are correctly interpreted, they can and do support each other. I’d say to anyone who doubts that: investigate the evidence yourself.” (p 81)

  4. And please, do not post in ALL CAPS. It looks like you're screaming. :-)
