Is God On America’s Side?

Nov 9–10, 2009 - comments: 1

As Christians in America, we are citizens both of the Kingdom of God and of the United States. Yet, it is sometimes difficult to balance the responsibilities of these two loyalties.

Our guest today has written a book, Is God on America’s Side?, to address that very dilemma. On today’s For Faith and Family we are happy to welcome Dr. Erwin Lutzer to the program. He has served as the senior pastor of the Moody Church in Chicago for over 20 years, and has authored over thirty books.

Thank you very much for your fine ministry over the radio waves.
I didn’t get in on the begining of the program this morning but appreciate your take on America’s certainly being blessed by God and therefore have a great responsibility to the rest of the world.I think America does give alot and the government gives as well as the people. I also feel that we are not giving as a people or as a country as we need to.

I also was interested in your side comments about the church. One of you commented that the church existed during the lives of the apostles, then didn’t exist until the Anabaptist came to be.
Are you talking about the reference to the statement in the book of Revelation when the church went into the wilderness for 1260days (years?)as the period after the ministry of the apostles and the gap between then and the Anabaptist (or even the Reformation)?
I would be interested in any light you might share on this.

Thank you and God Bless

Marvin
