God on Sex

Today our special guest is Daniel Akin, author of God on Sex: The Creator’s Ideas about Love, Intimacy and Marriage. We are coming to you today from the Southern Baptist Convention here in Phoenix, Arizona. You may hear the sounds of the activities of the convention going on in the background all around us.

Dr. Akin reminds us that sex was God’s idea as was marriage. And he adds God was having a really good day when he did.

With all the media hype and emphasis on sex many people are confused and forget that God gave us sex as a wonderful gift within the context of marriage. Dr. Akin has gleaned the very essence of God’s advice to couples on how to have a fulfilling and lasting marriage and physical relationship.

As Dr. Akin has stated: “Song of Solomon is a beautiful love song that portrays the deep, genuine love that a man and woman should enjoy in marriage. It celebrates the joys of physical, intimate sexual love.” When we commit ourselves to God’s plan for sex and marriage we enjoy the security of a committed relationship, experience the joy of unreserved passion, and discover the courage to give ourselves completely to another. Won’t you commit your marriage to the plan God intended?
