Effective Parenting

Today we are going to be talking about parenting and we have some great guests that are here to help us understand how our actions affect our children. We can’t just tell them the right way…we have to show them the right way.
First, we’ll visit with Truett Cathy, founder and chairman of Chick-fil-A. And while Truett has a passion for the chicken sandwich, his greater passion is mentoring and teaching young people.
Our second guest is here to tackle the tough issue of parenting during a divorce. We have all heard the saying that children are resilient and they can adjust to almost anything…but the effects of divorce on children at any age tell us a different story. Today we have the pleasure of welcoming renowned child psychologist Judith Wallerstein to the program.
But what happens when parents try to meet their children’s needs by giving them everything they want. Parents are supposed to take the leadership roles in the family, but in some cases children take the lead and in effect, they become the CEOs of the home and the parents become the support staff. Our third guest is Ed Young, pastor of one of the fastest growing churches in the country and author of the book Kid CEO.
