For Faith and Family

Today on the broadcast it is our delight to welcome our own Dr. Richard Land to the guest’s seat. It will be Harold’s pleasure and honor to sit in his chair for today and interview him about the book that he has written titled – very appropriately – For Faith and Family.

I’ve known what it’s like to live in a Christian nation and I know now that our nation is no longer Christian. Because America has lost her spiritual moorings she is adrift on sea of relativism. Christians have spent too much time standing on the shore telling each other what a shame it is, and making sure their own little boats are safely moored. I want to encourage Christians to throw out a lifeline to America, to get their feet wet, their hands dirty and their backs sore from straining as we help pull her back to her spiritual shore. It is my hope and prayer that these broadcasts will motivate and inspire our listeners to be a part of that rescue effort of America.

On September 11, 2001 and in the days and weeks following that tragedy, we saw heroes emerge out of that awful chaos as the rescue workers and police officers risked-and gave-life and limb to save strangers they didn’t even know who were trapped in that rubble. That is the same kind of passion and commitment we need as Christians to rescue our culture out of the moral ruins. We need a whole army of those kinds of heroes. Are you willing to be one of them?

It amazes me that some 35 years after Richard Land was one of my first pastors that I am still learning things from him.

I can only concur with Dr. Land that if we don’t throw some passion into our faith as the rescue workers did after 9/11 we will only stay safely moored to the shores.

God is now and will be pouring his Spirit out to meet the great onslaught of darkness that is sweeping our land, we will either launch out into it or not. Our future depends on it.
