Facing Stuggles

Feb 24, 2006 - comment

On today’s program, Dr. Land welcoms Tommy Nelson, David Jeremiah, and Katherine Harris to talk about struggles we can face in life.

Rev. Tommy Nelson, author of the book, The Problem of Life with God: Living in a Perfect World with an Imperfect God, joins Dr. Land to discuss the book of Ecclesiastes. Tommy Nelson does a wonderful job of showing us that God knew we’d have those moments of searching and doubt.

We all have times in our lives when it seems that we have hit a pothole on the road of life… when all our plans seem to go out the window. I can think of numerous occasions when God allowed me, and my family, to go through some tough times. While I didn’t enjoy it while I was going through it…I truly think I had tremendous spiritual growth during that time. David Jeremiah, author of A Bend in the Road, also joins us today.

Our final guest is Congresswoman Katherine Harris. Most of us would recognize her as Katherine Harris, Secretary of State for the State of Florida, who rose to near celebrity status during the presidential election of 2000. She has been elected and sworn in as a Congresswoman in the House of Representatives. She is also the author of a book which chronicles her responses, her actions and the lessons she learned through her harrowing experiences during the aftermath of the election of 2000. Her book is titled The Center of the Storm: Practicing Principled Leadership in Times of Crisis.

Comments are moderated to preserve the family-oriented nature of this website and in an attempt to avoid comment spam. We welcome opposing viewpoints, and we will not turn comments away as long as your views are presented with respect to everyone.

Please follow the these guidelines to insure your comments will be posted:

  1. Use a real name, at least a real first name. We find folks are less-rude online when not hiding behind a screen-name.
  2. Name-calling and vulgar-language will not be tolerated. Zero-tolerance is our policy. We will not spend time editing profanity. If it contains foul language, your post will be deleted. Oh, and we decide what is and what is not vulgar.
  3. Comments must be on topic. Correspondence or general comments (compliments, complaints, and otherwise) are best delivered here or expressed on your own personal Web site.
  4. And please, do not post in ALL CAPS. It looks like you're screaming. :-)
