Exodus

Feb 22–23, 2007

Today in America there is an exodus of biblical proportions taking place. Today’s guest explains why he believes that watered-down, ‘anything goes’ liberal Christianity is triggering an exodus to conservative churches.

Dave Shiflett says, “These days, in the United States, the religion story is often about division. There has always been friction within Christianity, and in our era the Body of Christ, as the spectrum of believers and practitioners is known, has been experiencing an ongoing stroke. Part of the Body is vibrant and growing; part is in the grip of advancing morbidity. The dynamic side, interestingly enough, is the more theologically conservative, holding fast to ancient creeds and writings revered as eternal, revealed Truth. The stricken side is the progressive side, which has tailored its message to more closely fit social development.” (pp xxv-xxvi)
