Disconnected Generation

Aug 13–14, 2007 - comments: 3

Today’s broadcast will be of critical importance to all of our listeners. We want you to join us as we have a very personal discussion with our special guest Josh McDowell. Josh is here today, because of the concerns we all have regarding what seems to be a path of self-destruction so many of our youth appear to be taking.

So many of us are at a loss about the continued tragedies that are occurring in our schools, on our highways, and in our own homes. Josh McDowell is a prolific author having written or co-written over 77 books, he is a popular speaker with young people and adults around the world, but most importantly he is a friend to youth everywhere. Josh has ministered to them for four decades and he too is concerned about what he has observed in teens: a distinctly different characteristic than observed in generations of the past. Josh joins us today to share some incredible new discoveries and to provide real answers for every parent and adult who cares about young people.

As a parent I have been so enlightened by today’s discussion. What Josh has shared with us today, is the way our heavenly Father relates to us. And there is nothing more that I desire than for all of us to truly experience the love of the Father through those of us who are his disciples. Josh has helped me learn to be a better parent and a better disciple.

Josh writes, “When our children are convinced in their heart and in their mind that Christ and His Word are absolutely real and true, they will be able to resist temptation, be firm in their faith and testify of God’s reality to the world around them with conviction.” What is true for our children is also true for each of us listening today. We must be convinced in our heart and in our mind that Christ and His Word are absolutely real and true.

I would like to know if I can get a transcript of Josh McDowell’s radio discussion on the Disconnected Generation as I am going to be teaching an introductory sociology college course and would like to have this information to inform my students.

Please advise.  This info is super and needed by the young adults of our culture.

Thanks
Heidi

I’d like to see that, too, if possible.  This was a great conversation, much needed.
