Day of Truth 2005

Apr 3–4, 2005 - comment

Mike Johnson from the Alliance Defense Fund is here to tell us about The Day of Truth on April 14th. It’s a day that counters the promotion of the homosexual agenda and expresses a Christian perspective on the issue. Students are encouraged to wear T-shirts and pass out cards to voice their convictions.

The Day of Truth is scheduled for April 14. This is the day after The Gay, Lesbian, Straight Educational Network will sponsor the “Day of Silence.” But the Day of Silence is a misnomer, because what is truly being silenced is the Truth. The Day of Truth is an excellent opportunity for students to influence their classmates from a Christian perspective.

Mike serves as legal counsel for the Alliance Defense Fund, at its Regional Service Center for the Southeastern United States. Prior to joining ADF, a non-profit legal defense and advocacy organization dedicated to religious liberty, traditional family values, and the sanctity of life, Mike worked as an attorney with notable law firms in north and south Louisiana. He has been a principal drafter of pro-family legislation for Louisiana and states and municipalities across the country.

Thank you for visiting FaithandFamily.com, a broadcast ministry of The Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention.

Comments are moderated to preserve the family-oriented nature of this website and in an attempt to avoid comment spam. We welcome opposing viewpoints, and we will not turn comments away as long as your views are presented with respect to everyone.

Please follow the these guidelines to insure your comments will be posted:

  1. Use a real name, at least a real first name. We find folks are less-rude online when not hiding behind a screen-name.
  2. Name-calling and vulgar-language will not be tolerated. Zero-tolerance is our policy. We will not spend time editing profanity. If it contains foul language, your post will be deleted. Oh, and we decide what is and what is not vulgar.
  3. Comments must be on topic. Correspondence or general comments (compliments, complaints, and otherwise) are best delivered here or expressed on your own personal Web site.
  4. And please, do not post in ALL CAPS. It looks like you're screaming. :-)

Comments will not appear immediately and are subject to editing or deletion. We will make every attempt to check new comments in a timely manner, though there will likely be delays on the weekends and around holidays. If you wish to keep your comments for your records, please save them on your own computer as comments are not guaranteed to be left up indefinitely.

Other than that, we welcome you and hope to see thoughtful discussions about For Faith & Family broadcasts.
