I’m still frightened of what will happen when I tell my parents I’m gay. It’ll hurt them, I know. And yet I must do it, in order to be true to myself.

There’s no reason it should hurt them, but it will, because their minds have been poisoned by religion. They don’t think that a moral act is one that helps people and an immoral act is one that hurts people. Instead, they define morality in terms of what pleases or displeases their invisible friend.

I dislike religion.
