      	<description><![CDATA[<p>And so we move another step closer to a religious litmus test for aspirants to political office. It makes me yearn for the denial issued by JFK in the &#8216;60 campaign, when he assured America that, if elected, he would NOT allow policy to be dictated by his faith, or by his church.

But then, he was Catholic, not Baptist. It&#8217;s different when the jackboot is on the other foot....
</p>
<p>
What is needed is a candidate that rejects pandering to single-issue pressures, either economic, social or religious,, and concentrates on policies to advance the lot of ALL Americans.
