Land on Repeal of DADT
- Sep 21, 2011 - 4 -
Last December, the U.S. Congress effectively placed the Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy, established in 1993, on life support, pending certification from the president and the heads of the military that a repeal of the policy, which allowed homosexual members of the military to serve but not to openly practice their homosexuality, would not harm the nation’s military readiness. Now with the policy’s official repeal, gay and lesbian service members are free to openly exercise their homosexuality.
Richard Land, president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, said the repeal of the military’s Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy was a wrong and dangerous decision.
“It is a sad day for our men and women in the armed services and for our country,” he said, warning that unless the policy or something similar is re-instituted unit morale will be seriously degraded. He predicted many men and women will leave the military because of the change in policy.
“The United States armed forces are not the place for social experimentation,” he said. “The military exists to fight wars and to win wars and to defend our freedoms. Its ability to perform those functions will be lessened by this policy.”
Land also said he expected the First Amendment rights of freedom of speech and free exercise of faith of military chaplains will be seriously curtailed or extinguished with the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.

Sad indeed, but we should not be surprised. Ever since the 60s radicals promoted “free love” with no boundries, or responsibilities, the homosexuals have chipped away at the wall of moral absolutes. Now that wall has fallen in a sea of perversion. History has shown, that civilizations that embraced homosexuality have fallen. The ancient Greek and Roman armies were strong, until they allowed rampant homosexuality run through their ranks. They became soft and undiciplined, leading to their ultimate defeat. What now is in store for the USA? Take a guess.

Amen Brother Land. It is indeed a sad day in our history. Has America seen her greatest days? It looks like the decline and fall is well under way. Thank you for taking a stand!

So you think that there haven’t been homosexuals in the military in the past years? I’ve been around the military since before you were out of diapers, and they have been in the military for YEARS.
I wonder what Christ would say about people who turn their backs on people who don’t fit their narrow-minded idea of a human.
I thought Christ was a God of LOVE. Guess I have been wrong all these many years.

WRONG!! That is a civilian’s idea of the policy. A civilian who knows NOTHING about military life.
And from what I have read and heard, the fall of the Roman Empire was the result of Christianity being introduced.
