I support all stem cell research. This tissue is going to be discarded anyway so it’s not morally sound to let it go to waste when it can benefit so many people today and tomorrow. I understand that there is a component to the sanctity of life but let’s remember that this tissue is already available and that we are not talking about killing babies we are talking about medical scientific research.

The foundation of my conviction is founded in Psalms 139:13-16. It is here that David acknowledges God’s divine work in creating while in the womb. The soul is joined with the “body” at the moment of conception and without conception, there is no embryo. Logically, without an embryo, there are no stem cells to dissect to begin with. Human life is sacred in the eyes of our Father and providing rationalization for what is wrong has never changed the essence of what it is and always will be.... wrong.

The attractiveness of embryonic stem cell production is less the adaptability of these cells and more about being so quick, cheap and easily implemented than are adult stem cell cures.
Only adult stem cell research is productive and safe. I *believe* that the use of nor-patient stem cells will never be so satisfactory because foreign cells will always require anti-rejection drugs to prevent failure. Adult (or embryonic) cells from the paitent will be free from such rejection. Al this besides the immorality of dismembering a living human however small and non-complex.
Only adult stem-cell research has produced true cures. It is not okay to disregard human life at any stage. It should be protected. Federal money should not be used for funding. The funding should come from the private sector.
I support adult stem-cell research only. I don’t think we should clone humans. If we do, that means we’re playing God. God is a very jealous God, and it’s a good jealous. He’s not being jealous in a mean way at all.
I believe in the research that is being done with regards to adult stem cells is amazing. I had a heart attack at the age of 36 with no family history of heart problems. Within no time at all my world was turned upside down and now am nolonger able to work and enjoy an active life due to the damage. I for one would love the opportunity to have the chance to have my heart function returned to what it was.
Adult stem cell, and umbilical cord and amniotic fluid stem cell treatments, as opposed to embryonic stem cell treaments, will provide effective theropies without the destruction of living human embryos. Because of this I support these methods of stem cell theropy.
The use of human embryos as raw material in the development and manufacturing of medicinal products is barbaric and is a form of child sacrifice that is a sin in the eyes of God. As a Christain I must speak out against this practice and I should never be forced to pay for it with my tax dollars.

God states that He knew all of us before we were in our mother’s womb, and that thou shall not kill the innocent, a that every human is made in the image of God.
It is likely that this “image” aspect may be the foundational reason for America’s desire to kill embryonic stem cells, when adult stem cells are shown to hold all the promise. According to scripture, most people will go to hell because they reject and hate God--thus they want to kill ‘him.’

Embryonic stem cells have been shown to reverse paralysis in animal models and treat several other diseases. This is PROOF OF PRINCIPLE, that embryonic stem cells can be used to treat disease.
By the standards presented, we should have given up on adult stem cell research since it has been going on for over 40 years and just very recently are starting to produce useful results.
LOL at citing David Prentice, a paid consultant of the Family Research Council and creator of the false propaganda of the “Do No Harm” coalition. Do a search on pubmed.gov. He has NEVER publised even 1 stem cell article nor is he a stem cell sciencist. Also there are only 9 FDA approved adult stem cell treatments, not 72.
If you review these articles as well you will see the majority are to releave the cytotoxic effects of chemotherapy. The adult stem cells are not CURING or TREATING the cancer itself.

I completely support Adult Stem Cell research. In recent months, there have been major breakthroughs in modeling skin cells into adult stem cells with the same capabilities as embryonic stem cells. Yes these findings are early, but there is great hope that using any kind of embryonic stem cells can be eliminated. God gave us the responsibility to take care of those who need help and care, and I believe that using our own cells to help improve our bodies to a natural (i repeat, natural)and normal state is completely what He would want us to do.
An internship can be a tremendously formative experience for students as they prepare for their career. An intern will come away with a deep satisfaction of knowing that they were directly involved in affecting issues that impact millions of people.

One minor but significant point of clarification:
There have been many (70+) actual treatments derived from adult stem cell research. However, zero (0) treatments have been developed by research on embryonic stem cells.
It is embryonic stem cell research (ESCR) that we consider immoral.
