Creation vs. Evolution - Creationism

“The Bible, which is our most reliable source of information, does not tell us exactly how God made each kind of creature, but it gives some important details of the creation process in general.
- As the Bible clearly states in Genesis 1, God made the earth in six definite ‘days’ or units of time.
- He created various living things ‘after their kind.’ The Authorized Version translates the Hebrew word min as ‘kind.’ But there is no reason for making this to be synonymous with the ‘species’ of the biologist. Indeed, Leviticus 11:16 refers to ‘the owl … after his kind,’ and taxonomists tell us that owls form a complete order. It appears, then, that the ‘kinds’ of Genesis cover a much wider range than ‘species.’ God did not ‘evolve’ all living things from one ‘kind,’ but made many different kinds of plants and animals, and created them originally as separate types (Genesis 1:20-27). At the beginning, a number of types of living things were created, including man, and these were created to remain true to their type throughout all generations. While there could be mutation within each ‘kind,’ there could be no transmutation between the ‘kinds.’
- Man was a separate ‘kind’ produced by God directly from the dust of the ground and in the image of God (Genesis 1:26-27; 2:21-25).”
